Book Report: RUNHIDESEEK series by Gabby Tye

SPOILER ALERT! If you don't like spoilers then, do not read this. Read the series first. Disclaimer: I am not being negative in this report, I am just writing how I think, no offense to anyone.

Hello, I am writing a book report on the RUNHIDESEEK series by Gabby Tye(@Runhideseek on Instagram). In book one, RUN, portrayed a girl who lost her memory and tries to survive, with her new found friends, this dead, zombie-like apocalyptic world that only teenagers were left alive in. RUN ended with her meeting some old friends by accident and she recovers her past memories. HIDE then continued from there and featured on how she dealt with both old and new memories. She remembers a mission she was given and left her group of friends to finish it. Along the way she discovers some abilities that she never had. The last few chapters showed some unexpected turnouts and HIDE left us on a cliffhanger, what will the group do against a squadron of soldiers. And SEEK, the perfect ending to this wonderful series, saw through the near-death experience of one of the characters. SEEK ends with how the group infiltrates this government campsite to finally reconcile with their families. However those abilities of hers was, in a way, destroyed in the midst of it. SEEK came to a wonderful end as they were able to bring Life back to their dead world.

I love this story. It is so realistic and futuristic. I believe that this story can be how the life on Earth would change if a genetic research can go so terribly wrong, unleashing some sort of super virus. Whether if it is to make 'The Blue Apple' or 'The Duya' or any other genetically-modified vegetables and fruits. Cloning animals! Will we become so desperate for food that we start cloning animals and eat fake food?! Yeah maybe, but that doesn't make it anymore right. You know, I can literally picture Earth being like this in the future, it just seems so possible that we can turn to all these 'solutions' to solve our future problems. Being able to change how your child would look like? Yeah, it would be a cool thing to do, but I don’t think it’s right to take away your child’s rightful identity. You, as the parent, are just changing your child’s features to suit your liking. You probably could change your daughter to look like Taylor Swift or your son to Cristiano Ronaldo just because you like it. However if your child has any facial disorder(touch wood) and you want to change it, be my guest.
If you can comment, please comment whether you would or would not want to change your unborn child’s features.

My favourite character would be of course Kayla or Zee(if you want to call her that or Kayzee). She is strong, determined and independent girl. Even after losing her memory and discovering her abnormal powers, she is still very headstrong and deciding to not be with either Jay nor Conner was a very hard but understandable decision. You cannot choose between two people whom you love equally, it is insane just to think it. However, I still want her with Jay. Sorry not sorry Conner but you had your chance.
Comment below if you have read the book and which boy you rather have Kayla(Zee) be with.

I would really recommend this book series. Give this Singaporean author some love! This is a fantastic story and one of my favourites. Again, it is very realistic and just have a bit of everything in it—Adventure, Horror and Fantasy. The characters are so cute and likable, you can’t help but just fall in love with them. The plot was so interesting and linked so flawlessly. Writing is not easy but Gabby surely has no problem writing such a beautiful series and I just want like a sequel to it but I can’t think of anything else Gabby can add to the story that it doesn’t already have.
